The Opportunity

The Solutions Engineer is an individual contributor and the technical engine of a tightly aligned account team. You will own the technical relationship across our most demanding prospects and customers — serving as subject matter expert and trusted advisor to red teams, offensive security leads, and CISOs. You will run discovery, deliver compelling demos, scope and drive Proof-of-Value (POV) engagements, and translate offensive security and agentic AI capabilities into clear customer outcomes. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a practitioner who wants to be in the room on every important technical conversation.

What You'll Do

  • Trusted advisor: Serve as the primary technical resource and subject matter expert for highly technical prospects and customers — from first call through POV, deployment, and expansion.
  • Solution overviews & demos: Deliver tailored solution overviews and live product demonstrations that translate offensive security and agentic AI capabilities into measurable customer outcomes.
  • Discovery & technical qualification: Lead structured technical discovery to surface attacker-relevant use cases, evaluation criteria, and decision drivers across security, IT, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Proof of Value (POV) leadership: Scope, plan, and drive POVs end-to-end — defining success criteria, rules of engagement, environment requirements, milestones, and exit criteria, and owning execution to a clear technical win.
  • Solution scoping: Scope customer solutions including environment assessment, integration requirements, and rules of engagement for offensive engagements.
  • Objection handling & competitive positioning: Respond to deep technical questions and security reviews. Position SpartanX clearly against alternatives — including incumbent pen testing, BAS, and emerging AI offerings.
  • Customer voice into product: Translate field signal into prioritized feedback for Product and Engineering. Bring real customer environments, blockers, and asks back into roadmap conversations.
  • Demo & lab readiness: Maintain demo environments, reference scenarios, and reusable assets so every engagement starts from a strong, current baseline.
  • Industry presence: Represent SpartanX at customer meetings and industry events (Black Hat, DEF CON, RSA, regional conferences) — supporting demos, technical sessions, and customer dinners alongside your AE.

What You'll Bring

  • Practitioner depth: Strong familiarity with modern offensive tradecraft, exploit development concepts, cloud and identity attack paths, and how mature defenders detect and respond.
  • Agentic AI fluency: Working knowledge of agentic AI systems, LLM-driven workflows, tool use, evaluation, and observability — and a clear point of view on how AI changes the offensive security workflow.
  • Customer-facing track record: Demonstrated success in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Account, or hands-on consulting role at a cybersecurity vendor, ideally in an early-stage or hyper-growth environment.
  • POV execution: Track record of scoping and running successful proof-of-value or technical evaluation engagements with clear success criteria and on-time delivery.
  • Executive presence: Comfortable presenting to and engaging with CISOs, security architects, and offensive security leads. You can hold the room with both a SOC analyst and a board member.
  • Communication: Clear, structured communication — written, verbal, and visual — including the ability to whiteboard architecture and translate complex concepts for mixed audiences.
  • Location & travel: Based in the Boston or New York metro area (other locations considered based on experience), willing and energized by consistent travel to customers, partners, and industry events.
